     Shelly Moschak, a native Houstonian, escaped the traffic and city life and moved to the more relaxed lifestyle of the Brenham countryside. She enjoys working her real estate career as the younger part of a dynamic mother-daughter team with agent Kathy Smith.  From a large, close-knit family herself, Shelly enjoys spending time with her “guys” - her husband and two sons - watching them play sports, camping, and capturing their memories on film.


      Shelly’s down-to-earth, positive attitude and tremendous sense of humor are reasons she builds strong relationships with her clients. She focuses first on really getting to know her clients, discovering their needs and desires, then resolves to find a solution fitting for each person.

     Shelly had experienced “Corporate America” and “glass ceilings”, so she made the transition into real estate for a simple reason: “I wanted to build a career around my life, not a life around my career.” She insists life is too short not to keep your priorities in order … God First, Family Second, Career Third!  Tenacious and reliable, she insists on doing things the right way the first time and her integrity is unparalleled. Dedicated to professional, courteous service, Shelly only wants what’s best for her clients. She is determined to see the transaction through after helping her clients explore all of their options.


     Through her previous career experiences as an Office Manager for her church, a Legal Assistant, Executive Assistant with an industrial gas company, and a Senior Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, she developed extensive communication, marketing and organizational skills that her clients value and appreciate. She believes that people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care and that everyone will remember how you made them feel.

     Shelly is a member of the Washington on the Brazos Historical Society, Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Washington County Rotary and Friends of Faith Mission; and is a committed supporter of Younglife.  

She also believes it’s important for Realtors to stay educated about their market and remain connected with a network of professionals.   Therefore, she has served 2 years as a Director and 2 years as Vice President /TREPAC (Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee) Chair for the S. Central Board of Realtors. Shelly led the S. Central Board of Realtors to double their highest record (at that time) in fundraising for TREPAC, raising over $12,000 in 2008 and $12,856 in 2009, to help protect rights of property owners in TX and protect the income of TX Realtors!   CLICK TO LEARN MORE ABOUT TREPAC

Kathy Smith says that successfully working with a customer honestly and with the utmost integrity are her goals and her legacy—a legacy Kathy has been developing as a consistent multi-million dollar top producer since the beginning of her real estate career 1997 selling farm and ranch real estate in Brenham.  She is intimately attuned to the special joys and challenges of farms and ranches in numerous counties .

     Before becoming a Realtor, Kathy spent 27 years working in the legal field in Houston, Texas beginning her  legal career with the State’s Attorney General’s Office & worked for other law firms in the Houston area, managed law offices, was active in the Legal Secretaries Association   and achieved Para-Legal status —  an experience that gives her an edge in handling real estate transactions.  Simultaneously, Kathy was a Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics where she received extensive training in marketing, time management, communications and goal setting which provided her with a solid foundation from which to build her real estate career.    

    Kathy always set her focus on her customer’s needs, whether successfully marketing a property or finding that special farm or ranch for her Buyer.  She says that  “keeping focused on the transaction, overcoming  obstacles, offering creative solutions to get the deal done, persevering through glitches and conscientiously working toward the end goal are special characteristics of my work habits.” 

     A native Houstonian, Kathy relocated with her family to Brenham in 1994 seeking a lifestyle change & immediately become involved in community fundraising activities.  She was the founder and primary fundraiser for the first Brenham High School’s “Project Graduation” in 1995, & a Team Captain for the American Cancer Society’s 2004 and 2005 “Relay for Life” fundraiser in Washington County, & served on a  committee for the Candlelit Christmas Fundraiser for Faith Mission, Table Hostess for Candlelight Christmas for 8 years and was a Table Hostess for the Young Life fundraiser banquet.

Mike Thomas was formerly a Houston police officer whose dream was always to retire to a quiet place in the country, but he, his wife and four kids wondered, "why wait?".  So, they bought their piece of heaven in Washington County, and in 1991 built their dream home - a four bedroom log cabin surrounded by huge live oaks among the rolling hills.  His children all attended Brenham schools   while he commuted to Houston.

When he retired from the Houston Police Department, after 30 years of service, he began devoting his time to helping others find the property and home of their dreams so that they might also enjoy "God's Country" as he and his family has.

When he's not helping his clients find the perfect property, he likes to enjoy his own country home cmoplete with horses, dogs, chickens and white tailed deer in his own back yard.  He's a member of Brenham's First Baptist Church, the South Central Board of Realtors, a Committeeman and Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and competes in Cowboy Mounted Shooting.

Mike is diligent in helping his clients find the property that best fits their lifestyles and can guide them through discussions of soil, water, mineral rights, land usage, tax concerns, and financing. Native Houstonian, Deanna Biggers, grew up in La Porte, TX on the Southeast side of Houston. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1984 from Texas A&M University and later taught Junior High math in Deer Park ISD and for San Jacinto Junior College. Her love of teaching was evident by the way she helped others and made them feel comfortable. Teaching Junior High students was one of the most rewarding and interesting positions she has ever held!


She and her husband, Steve, started a family in 1991, and at that time, she chose to become a “stay at home mom”. That was the most important job she’s ever had!
Her husband later turned his hobby and part-time venture into a full-time career. Steve’s business, Rocky Creek Retrievers, specializes in training Labrador Retrievers for Waterfowl Hunts. (He enjoys the outdoors, and occasionally joins her in showing properties.) As his business grew, they found they needed more land and a larger facility… so they began to search West of Houston. After several years of looking for the perfect property, they found their place in Brenham in 2001, which they’ve called home ever since! Deanna enjoyed the process so much that she developed a desire to help others with the experience. So, in 2006, she became a licensed Realtor!


Devoted to professionalism and intensely personalized service, Deanna enjoys the opportunity her Real Estate Career provides to help clients and friends fulfill their dreams of owning a country place! She especially enjoys the excitement they share with her when they feel they’ve finally found it! When she’s not assisting clients, Deanna loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys her hobbies of reading, quilting, exercising and going to the movies. She also supports her community by being an active member of the Brenham Heritage Society, Brenham High School Band Booster Club, and the Brenham Softball Alumni Association.

Angela Vinson grew up in Pearland TX, just outside of Houston. Her husband’s job brought her and her family to Canyon Lake (God’s Secret Paradise) in 2003. Working in the corporate Medical Field for over fifteen years, Angela welcomes the tranquility and beautiful views of Canyon Lake and the Hill Country. “No more hustle and bustle.” If she is not spending time with her children and their activities, baseball, football, dance or horse back riding they are on the Lake or in the River.


Through her experiences working as a Director of Operations for Urgent Care Centers, and a Insurance Sales Associate she developed excellent interpersonal, organizational, marketing and administrative skills that are beneficial in her real estate career. She is dedicated to giving people what they want and will work hard to do so. Angela believes that it is not only what you do in life that gets you remembered it is HOW you do it. Whether it is your “Secret Paradise”, weekend get a way, single family home, lake front property or farm and ranch, she is dedicated to helping you find it by getting to know you on a personal level and finding out your needs, goals and desires.


Angela believes that it is important to be involved in and support your community. She has learned valuable skills volunteering throughout the years as PTA President, VP Lions Club, Pearland Neighborhood Center Board, Comal County School Representative, Girl Scout Leader, Advisory board for the Texas School of Business, Little League Baseball and Football board. Anytime there is an opportunity for fundraising to support the community or the schools, Angela has been involved in leadership to make it happen! She is just as committed to her clients as she is to her faith, family and community.

Brenham has been Leslie’s home for the last 13 years.  She moved to this area with her husband, Tim, to serve at Miracle Farm, a ranch for troubled teenage boys in beautiful Independence, Texas - just North of Brenham. (http://www.childrenatheartministries.org/page.aspx?pid=1172 ).  Together they have two teenagers and Tim now serves as the Pastor at Champion Fellowship.  They have been in ministry together for the past 20 years. 

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and her Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development - both from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.   

Not only is Leslie a “pastor’s wife” but she is very active in the lives of her children and her community.  She serves in many capacities, such as the Board of Directors for Faith Mission (http://www.faithmission.us/) and mentors young mothers through MOPs (Mother’s of Preschoolers) at Champion Fellowship (http://www.championfellowship.org/).  She is an active member of SWAC (Southwestern Advisory Council, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary), and has volunteered for many different organizations throughout the years.   

After being a stay at home mom for the last 5 years, Leslie decided to return to the working world, so she joined 5 Star Country Properties, LLC as the Office Manager.  The real estate world is a new adventure for Leslie, but she is equipped for the challenge and does a fantastic job of managing the office here!  5 Star Country Properties is very fortunate and proud to have her on our Team!
